The Ak-Chin Indian Community is home to a large variety of indigenous plant and animal life that have cultural significance and is an important part of the Community.
EPD is responsible for managing and protecting these species and their habitats. The program works closely with other outside agencies when necessary and participates in the Annual Earth Day in order to promote and teach Community members and others the importance of preserving and protecting plants and animals throughout the Community.
