Intent of Ak-Chin’s Honoring Nations grant funding:

The Honoring Nations Award funding received in 2008 from the Harvard Project on American Indian Economic Development and the Native Nations Institute at the University of Arizona was established to develop  the Environmental Programs website, a brochure, notification of the website and development of other means of circulating environmentally related issues to the Ak-Chin Indian Community such as enabling Community members to view and comment on NEPA related documents; Environmental Assessments; projects within and outside of the Community; proposed Ordinances etc. The website may include maps, photographs, letters, etc. The funding received is also intended for use as advertisement to other Tribes to promote the funding offered by Honoring Nations.
